We are once again marking International Condom Day on February 13, in partnership with AHF (AIDS Healthcare Foundation), with the support of Lisboa Sem Sida, Seixal Saudável, and Bar Tr3s, aiming to distribute 5,000 free condoms.
The initiative includes interactive activities, free condom distribution, and screenings for HIV, HBV, HCV, and syphilis, adopting a dynamic and engaging approach to raise awareness about the importance of condom use as an essential tool for sexual health.
At Praça da Figueira or Bar Tr3s, drag queens Lazzarka, Mary Poppers, and Sylvia Koonz will be looking for people ready to take on the Basta Usar Challenge: an interactive activity led by the drag queens, where participants are challenged to properly place a condom on a surprise object.
International Condom Day is a global initiative by AHF, held annually in multiple countries to promote condom accessibility and reinforce its importance as a fundamental public health practice. In Portugal, GAT continuously works to ensure access to information, prevention, and free screenings, empowering individuals to make informed decisions about their sexual health.
