The Treatment Activists Group (GAT) and Coalition Plus are organizing the Lusophone Network Conference - The challenges of early diagnosis and access to health in Guinea-Bissau on November 27 at the Franco-Bissau Guinean Centre in the city of Bissau.
The conference aims to publicize and reinforce the importance of integrated community screening (HIV, Hepatitis B and C and Syphilis) in the country. To coincide with the European HIV and Viral Hepatitis Testing Week, organized by the Community Screening Network, the results of the UNAIDS proof of concept on integrated screening will be presented, as well as the preliminary results of the International Testing Week.
Based on their shared language and history, the Lusophone Network is an advocacy platform made up of community-based organizations from Portuguese-speaking countries (CPLP) whose work is aimed at improving responses on the ground in the areas of HIV infection and AIDS, viral hepatitis and tuberculosis.
The Lusophone Network aims to bring together people living with HIV and activists so that they can work together to draw up joint action plans and develop effective strategic responses that respect human rights in the fight against epidemics.
Bringing guests from different areas of public health to the debate, the aim of this meeting is to promote engagement between the different actors and joint reflection on the participation of civil society in the area of health cooperation. Community-based organizations from Guinea-Bissau will be present, such as ADPP-GB, ENDA Guinea-Bissau and RENAP+.
