The Treatment Activists Group (TAG) invites all interested people to participate in an information and debate session focused on the immunization of people living with HIV, an opportunity for the community, health professionals and health entities to master and debate the immunization options and vaccines available for people living with HIV.
Following the “Advancing Immunization for People living with HIV” Symposium, where the gaps and needs in immunization for people living with HIV were intensely debated, experts are brought together for a new discussion session, involving the community, to continue advocacy to ensure equitable access to immunization, essential for the health and well-being of people living with HIV.

PROGRESS AND CHALLENGES: REFLECTIONS FROM THE SYMPOSIUM “ADVANCING IMMUNIZATION FOR PEOPLE LIVING WITH HIV”
The previous symposium highlighted the need for specific actions, including:
- The creation of a specific vaccination schedule for people living with HIV.
- The implementation of vaccination points in hospitals where these people already receive care, facilitating access to vaccines.
- Exempting the cost of essential vaccines and strengthening co-payment policies.
- Training and technical updating of health professionals to better advise people living with HIV on the appropriate vaccines.
This session aims not only to debate, but also to propose concrete actions to help overcome the obstacles identified. The inclusion of the community and responsible bodies is essential to ensure that the recommendations are translated into effective and accessible policies.
