14 Abril 2025

From 14 to 19 April, the city of São Tomé will host Testing Week, a public health initiative focused on promoting early diagnosis and preventing infections such as HIV, hepatitis B and C, syphilis, malaria, and tuberculosis. Organized alongside the VII Meeting of Health Ministers of the CPLP, this community activity offers free, anonymous, and confidential screenings, with personalized counseling and linkage to formal health services.

Throughout the week, community health teams from the Santomense Association for Family Promotion (ASPF) will be present at various strategic points in the city, including markets and squares, aiming to reach the most vulnerable populations and promote access to screening in safe and stigma-free environments.

Testing Week is promoted by Coalition PLUS, through the French Development Agency (AFD), with technical support from GAT – Treatment Activists Group, ISPUP – Institute of Public Health of the University of Porto, and in partnership with the Ministry of Health of São Tomé and Príncipe and the Directorate-General of Health of Portugal.
