BAMH: Bridging Access for Migrant Health
Objective: The BAMH project aims to enhance the health and well-being of migrant communities by providing culturally tailored health education, HIV and viral hepatitis testing, and peer-based support to facilitate better access to care. Through targeted awareness campaigns and the provision of informative resources, the project seeks to improve health literacy and empower migrants to exercise their healthcare rights confidently. By implementing a comprehensive and locally adapted approach, BAMH, led by GAT in partnership with Ser+ and AHSeAS, strives to achieve several key goals. It seeks to increase early detection of HIV and viral hepatitis, raise awareness and knowledge about HIV, viral hepatitis, and other sexually transmitted infections, and strengthen the capacity of health and social sector professionals to deliver culturally competent and inclusive care. Moreover, the project is dedicated to empowering migrant communities to navigate healthcare systems independently and to reinforcing referral pathways between screening services and healthcare providers, while fostering collaboration among health professionals, NGOs, and social services to ensure holistic support for migrant health.
